Who We Are
Patrick Brewis, CEO for Creative Detroit Placemakers, is an interior designer (and professional actor to boot) who relishes in providing client-centered, bespoke design that inspires and heals. His boutique interior design services offer complete transformation to those looking for the extraordinary.
Patrick began designing as a kid stashing his floor plans and elevations in a bottom dresser drawer, but his first drafting class was a bust (it was auto-centric) and he turned to acting-- designing characters instead. Upon graduation from Wayne State University with a BFA in Theatre, he began his career as a professional actor-singer-dancer performing in Los Angeles, Florida, New York City and the UK.
Gaining transferable skills from his education and experience, Patrick subsequently applied them to create success in sales, marketing, creative events, fundraising, and ultimately in design and project management. Patrick has designed and managed multiple projects for residential, hospitality, and commercial spaces, including a 21st century urban boarding school in Detroit, converting the third-floor ballroom of famed Detroit architect Louis Kamper's house in to a stunning home office as documented in this Dwell.com article, and a $13.5M renovation and restoration of an historic 19th century church in New York City.
As people spend more and more time at home, Patrick experiences homeowners wanting a deeper connection to and inspiration in their own surroundings; and business owners and employees wanting to focus on safety and healing aesthetics. Working closely with clients to understand their needs and desires, he employs sensitive customized design that culminates in inspirational, healing and luxurious spaces.
